London Vacation Packages

London is situated on the River Thames and is vibrant and multicultural. It’s also the largest city of the United Kingdom and England, and has scores of bargain hotels to stay in that can be found on the Travel Clearance discount table. London is one of the great "world cities," and remains a global capital of culture, fashion, finance, politics and trade.

Such a huge city, with so much to see and do, it’s hard to know where to start. But a few London landmarks simply can’t be forgotten on your holiday. Buckingham Palace, which is the official London residence of the Queen is as good a place as any to kick off your tour, followed by the London Eye, which is now the third largest observation wheel in the world and which sits on the South bank of the Thames.

Then there is Picadilly Circus for the camera buffs, and Marble Arch makes another great photo stop on a Mayfair traffic island. Tower Bridge is another London icon that can’t be missed and of course the Tower of London itself, the city’s original royal fortress by the Thames. This is guarded by the Beefeaters, is a World Heritage Site and is thought to be one of the most haunted buildings in the world by some. You can even take a guided ghost walk if you like.Other places of note in the city area include Trafalgar Square, where you’ll find Nelson’s Column and the lions, and Westminster Abbey and the Palace of Westminster with Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.

London Bridge

London hosts an outstanding collection of world-class museums, including the British Museum, the National Gallery, the Tate Britain and Tate Modern Museums, and the Victoria & Albert Museums amongst others, so there is plenty to see in the world of arts, history and culture.

As for nature, London boasts a large number of city parks, so you could find yourself in Hyde Park, St.James Park or Regent’s Park, enjon weboying huge open spaces and a picnic lunch, or strolling through romantic, fragrant gardens. Or you can even be in the company of the local deer populations in Richmond Park or Bushy Park too. One of the best ways to see London is by foot, taking a slow stroll through the Royal Parks, from Paddington Station, then through Trafalgar Square and over theThames, finishing on the South Bank and Waterloo Station.

When night falls there are few cities in the world that offer such a huge variety of live music concerts and bands, from huge concert halls to small, friendly pubs, and everything in between. For theatre lovers The West End, is one of the world's premier destinations for theatre, including musical theatre, plus a large number of superb art house cinemas.

London also has some famous restaurants and Indian food is the very popular. But true English fare such as Bangers and Mash and Fish and Chips are never hard to find too in all the cosy pubs dotted around town, not to mention some of the classiest fine dine restaurants in the whole of Europe.

Welcome to London Town.
