Shanghai is a massive city containing sightseeing, restaurants, nightlife and accommodation, including numerous budget hotels from Travel Clearance.

Shanghai is a magical mix of East and West, with it’s historic shikumen houses that blend the styles of Chinese houses with European design flair, and one of the most impressive collections of Art Deco buildings in the world. Following the presence of Western powers during the turn of the 20th century, in many places the city has a very cosmopolitan feel to it.. There is everything from classic Parisian style, to Tudor style buildings that give an English flair and 1930s buildings reminiscent of New York or Chicago.
There are lots of interesting attractions in Shanghai depending largely on your time period and interests. If you take a boatride on the river, this is a great way to see the striking Shanghai skyline and river banks and shoot some good photos. Or you can take one of the many ferries that cross the river for a couple yuan. For a feel of the China of yesteryear loaded with classical Chinese architecture, there’s Yuyuan Gardens. The cultural menu of the city includes the Shanghai Museum, where the Ancient Bronze exhibit is most impressive, and some wonderful temples such as the Jade Buddha Temple, Jing'an Temple and Longhua Temple, or you can visit the spectacular Pearl Tower, right in the middle of the skyline.
For a relaxing time, you have Shanghai's many tea houses, including Tang Yun tea house which serves many varieties of tea along with traditional Chinese delicacies, with many of the snacks at the common table free. Then enjoy a trip to Shanghai City Beach, the beautiful Jinshan City Beach on the north bank of Hangzhou Bay, at the southern end of Jinshan District, with great scenery, points of interest and entertainment all in one strip with blue waters, golden sands and walkways.
For a taste of 1920s Shanghai, head for the stately old buildings of the The Bund or the French Concession, a great boutique shopping area along Xinle Rd, Changle Rd and Anfu Rd. And for some classic Western architecture, some of the best sections are found along Hunan Rd, Fuxing Rd and Shaoxing Rd., with some great restaurants along the way. The modern touch in the skyline will be found along the Huangpu River bank in Pudong's Lujiazui District, with some of the tallest and most inspiring structures in Asia and the world, such as Oriental Pearl Tower, one of the tallest structures in Asia, Jin Mao Tower, which is staggering 88-storeys, and the Shanghai World Financial Center, the third largest building in Asia and the world.
Shanghai is a breathtaking city landscape with a never-ending multitude of exciting activities and attractions when you are on holiday.
